Pravda is reporting that Russian Babe Varvara Semennikova is still 117 years young this week. That means she was born in 1890, about the same time Russian nesting dolls, or matryoshka, were first made.

Coincidence?

Just look at photo of Varvara cradling the nesting infant, the coquettish way she uses that fat whelp to cover her dusty teats. Only a blind man could miss the striking similarities.

Since the turn of the century both the nesting dolls and Varvara have become beloved Russian institutions. And while there can be no compelling explanation for the nesting doll fad, it seems the Varvara fad was fanned by a much younger husband.

“We used to share a yurt with his parents” she said, about hunter, and Russian momma’s boy, Alexi Semennikova, 27 years her junior.

Alexi is long dead. Of alcohol poisoning perhaps. There can’t be enough vodka in all of mother Russia to bury the shame. The same shame we’d all feel should we marry a toothless mummy.

No more yurts and young studs. Varvara has since moved in with her daughter and grandson. Like most Russian women she spends all her time watching TV, gumming raw fish, and, one imagines, doing a little porn to make ends meet.
